Paul Morrison was the founding pastor of
Liberty Baptist Church. He, his wife
Julie, and their four children are now preparing to go to the country of
Swaziland. Pastor Morrison is a native
of the Hudson River Valley, growing up in Stormville, NY. Julie is a native of Grand Forks, ND, where
Paul and Julie met in 1995. They were
married in October 1999 and have been serving the Lord together ever since.
Pastor Morrison worked as an assistant to
Pastor Mike Custer at Bible Baptist Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota. After three years on staff at BBC, the church
authorized him to go back to New York and fulfill his God-given desire of
starting a church in Dutchess County.
Liberty Baptist Church began meeting at the
Estelle and Alphonso Complex on Route 9 in February 2005. In 2009 services were
moved to 45 Elm Street in Fishkill, where attendance continued to grow. In late
2015 LBC began meeting in our current location.
Brother Morrison has visited the Kingdom of Swaziland and met the King
both there and in NYC. He has felt the Lord's call to reach that country with
the gospel of Jesus Christ. In March 2016, he resigned as pastor of Liberty
Baptist Church and Rick Totten was chosen as the new pastor.
Pastor Rick Totten literally followed founding pastor Paul Morrison into
the pulpit. After Bro. Morrison's last sermon as pastor on Easter Sunday, March
27, 2016, Liberty Baptist Church voted to have Bro. Totten succeed him.
Pastor Totten was raised in New York and Connecticut, and has also lived in Ohio and Missouri. He has been involved in various areas of ministry including church planting pastor. His experience includes Bible preaching and teaching for over 40 years, working in manufacturing at the same time, and daily involvement as a caregiver since 2001. Bro. Totten and his wife Nancy were married in 1975 and have four children and seven grandchildren.
